Some ride malfunctions are dangerous. Others are simply strange. What happened at Disney Adventure World on Sunday, October 11, 2026, belongs firmly in the second category: a vehicle on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure got stuck facing the wrong way and travelled the full course backwards, with guests on board.

A ride with no show

The attraction uses a trackless system. Its rat-shaped vehicles follow no visible rail, moving freely through the scenes and pivoting deliberately toward each projection screen. That pivot is exactly what failed here. The vehicle stayed turned away from the screens, so the group missed the show entirely.

The incident was captured by content creator magickingdan, who filmed a POV video of the ride and posted it with the text “POV: but your Ratatouille ride vehicle is facing the wrong way.” His caption summed it up dryly: “Great ride, saw nothing.”

According to the report, there was no danger at any point. Cast Members apologised and offered the party line-skip passes, which the creator says he handed to a family instead.

What is known about the cause

Disneyland Paris has not issued a statement. With a trackless system, a programming fault that skipped the intended rotation is the obvious explanation, but that remains an assessment rather than a confirmed cause.

Two further details from the comments are also unconfirmed. One user reported the attraction was down for around two hours that Sunday, possibly because of the same issue. Another said the same thing had happened to them once. Neither claim has been verified and both should be treated accordingly.

Attraction background

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened in 2014 in what was then Walt Disney Studios Park, now operating as Disney Adventure World. The ride received a technical overhaul earlier in 2026, switching from 3D to 2D and gaining additional set pieces. There is no apparent link between that work and this malfunction, and no source has suggested one.
