More scaffolding has come down at the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios. After months behind steel, the reworked facade is becoming visible again.
Work began in early May 2026 around the outdoor queue. Scaffolding went up on the facade itself in early July.
Most recently, scaffolding has been removed on the right-hand side around the upper windows with the green shutters.

What was done
One change stands out: the yellow cut-out squares previously visible on the facade have been painted over or filled in.The Tower of Terror is one of those structures where the condition of the facade is part of the design – the building is meant to look derelict, but in a controlled way. Facade work here is therefore trickier than on a building simply meant to look new.
The attraction stayed open
Worth noting for travellers: the Tower of Terror operated throughout. Anyone there in recent months could ride – only the photo opportunity was compromised. No completion date has been given. How long the remaining scaffolding stays is therefore unknown.
Anyone hoping to photograph the attraction should check on site which sides are clear – the work has proceeded in sections.
