New We Call It Imagineering Episode Tours Disney Sites

Walt Disney Imagineering's YouTube series We Call It Imagineering has added a new instalment. Released on August 27, 2026, the episode takes architecture as its subject, which in practice means visiting several of the company's in-progress projects.

Viewers get a look at exterior facade work underway at Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios, followed by a walk through the sample yard for Tropical Americas at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where Imagineers test themed finishes before they reach the park. The episode also goes behind the wall at Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom, where the project team is carrying out balloon testing, and stops at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, described as a place where Imagineers are blending physical and digital architecture to push immersive storytelling further.

Alongside the current work, the episode looks back at the architectural decisions made during the construction of Disneyland and spotlights two existing examples: Animation Courtyard and Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom, which Disney presents as a landmark case of architecture and landscape design working together. The framing throughout is that technology keeps changing while the objective stays fixed on building believable worlds.

The series takes its cue from Walt Disney's original behind-the-scenes specials introducing Disneyland, and follows Imagineers as they design new lands, attractions and entertainment experiences. Six episodes have been released so far, with earlier entries covering Audio-Animatronics figures, music and sound design, ride development, Disney Live Entertainment, the castles across the parks, the Haunted Mansion, Research & Development and, most recently, the Disney Adventure for Disney Cruise Line.

Episodes run on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel, where they remain free to watch. Since February 2026 the series has also been available on Disney+, with new instalments continuing to premiere on YouTube first before being added to the streaming service later.
